The powerful Volkswagen Touareg has got Wimmer tuning package

Wimmer Rennsporttechnik Company has decided to improve the Touareg model of the second generation and make it more attractive for customers. The tuners have forced 3.0-liter TDI V6 diesel engine. Due to the modifications and a software optimization, the power unit of the updated crossover can generate 240 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque instead of previous 204-hp and 450 Nm.

ECU reflashing was realized last year but this time the engineers have developed a package for the same six-cylinder motor and made it possible to deliver 310 horsepower and 600 Nm of torque. These upgrades were used for a white Touareg SUV supplied by 21-inch wheels and KW suspension. The modified crossover has a deeper sound, thanks to a new exhaust system that is the self-design project.

The Wimmer workers doesn’t share the details about the Volkswagen Touareg performance, but it is obvious that the increase in power has reduced the acceleration time by a few tenths of a second. The standard model can get the first 100 km/h is 8.7 seconds. Most likely that the maximum speed slightly increased from the current 206 km/h in the 204-hp version equipped by V6.
