Volkswagen Golf will get new 1.5-liter engines

In the near future German car brand Volkswagen will begin selling its updated hatchback Golf with the new powertrain. This was announced to the representative of the Western automotive publications by the general director of the Volkswagen Group Herbert Diss.

According to him, the new power unit with the volume of 1.5 liters will run on gasoline and diesel, and will be available instead of 1.4-1.6-liter petrol and diesel turbocharged engines. Head of the Company also noted that the new engine is developed by the engineers of the brand from point zero, and is characterized by a low-cost, lower fuel consumption and greater productivity.

The brand’s management has not said anything about the power of the new engines, but apparently, the power plants will be available with varying degrees of turbocharging. The new engines will be installed not only to the model Golf. Such model as Polo, Tiguan, Audi A1, A3, as well as small cars of the brands Seat and Skoda will also get this brand new efficient engine.
